During the Summer of 2009, I faced the reality of skin cancer. I have dysplastic nevi, or moles that can potentially turn into melanoma. Exposure to sunlight is actually dangerous for me.
It was a kitten that signaled the danger. Animals can be aware of unusual conditions of their humans. One morning my girlfriend told me how the animal was pawing at a mole on my shoulder. I saw a doctor immediately and was informed that it was, in fact, a deadly melanoma in it's early stages. Fortunately, it was early enough to circumvent the most deadly cancer.
I recorded this song for many reasons. The main one being that I want to make the world a better place. This is a cover of Michael Gira’s song with lyrics included from Jason Pierce and Peter Kember. I feel that the juxtaposition of these elements - the title, the songwriters, and what they represent - placed in the context of a recording that I have done for charity, is inherently relevant to our place in time.
Please donate as much as you can for this download. The more you pay, the more lives will be saved. As funds become available, we will create physical merchandise for this - all proceeds of which will go to charities that benefit cancer patients.
lyrics
When, when we were young
We had no history so nothing to lose
Meant we could choose, choose what we wanted then
Without any fear or thought of revenge
But then you grew old and I lost my ambition
And I gained an addiction to drink and depression
They are mine, my only true friends
And I'll keep them here with me until the very end
I choose not to remember but I miss your arrogance
I need your intelligence and your hate for authority
But now you are gone, I read it today
They found you in Spain face down in the street
With a bottle in your hand and a wild smile on your face
And a knife in your back
You died in a foreign land
And they found my letter rolled up in your pocket
Where I said I would kill myself if she left me again
So now she is gone and you're both in my mind
I have one thing to say before I am drunk again
God damn the sun
God damn the sun
God damn anyone who says a kind word
God damn the sun
God damn the sun
God damn the light it shines and this world it shows
God damn the sun
God damn the sun
Well here it comes
Here comes the sound
The sound of confusion
Well here it comes
The sound of love

The truth is this album was produced without professional help, may be overly ambitious, and you may want to keep your expectation low, but it’s utility is positive, unusual, esoteric life enhancement DGTLHRNE
